Q. Explain Horizontle merger?

Horizontle merger: when two or more concerns dealing in same product or service join together, it is kn own as a horizontle merger. The idea benefit this type of merger is to avoid competition b/w the units. For example, two manufactures of same type of cloth, two book sellers, two transport companies operating on the same route - the merger in the all these cases will be horizontle merger. Besides avoiding competition, there are economic of scale, marketing economics, elimination of duplication of facilities etc.
