3. Consider the following changes and give reasons why these would benefit your work team:

  2. Reducing lead time
  3. Becoming a high-performance work team
  4. Reducing machine downtime

4. Your organization is the vehicle that will take you into the future. If your organization were a car, what type of car would it be now? What would be the characteristics of the car? Brainstorm some ideas with people from your learning group and come up with a number of points that describe your car.

Now that you have given some thought about where your organisation is going, what kind of car do you think it should be and why?

5. Describe a change initiative you have managed, one you have been involved in or one you are planning to be involved in. Include the following aspects.

1.      Why is this change necessary - did it arise from external or internal pressures?

2.      Why is it important - what will happen if change does not occur?

3.      What is the future after the change?

4.      What and who needs to change?

5.      Who will it benefit and how?

6.      What is needed from us for the change to happen?
