What is the significance of distribution channel?

In order to know the marketing channel, this is important to know the reasons for emergence of distribution channels. The main justification of their existence is economic. To prevent there is nothing a producer from distributing his goods or services by himself. Actually, by using intermediaries, he loses an important degree of control over the circumstances of sale to the last consumer and sustains the cost of margins to be paid to the middlemen.
