Ranking method: in this, the superior ranks his or her subordinates in the order of their merits, starting from the best of the worst. All that the HR development knows is that A is better than B, the "how" and "why" is not questioned, nor answered. No attempt is made to fractionalize what is being appraised into the component elements.
