Q. Merits and Demerits of Role playing method?

Merits:

1. The trainees learn more effectively by doing.

2. Human sensitivity and interactions are stressed.

3. Immediate results are known.

4. A high involvement of trainees is seen.

5. The trainees develop to the necessary skills and ability knowledge, particularly in areas like human relations.

6. Third method is successful in bringing a desired change in the trainee's behaviour and attitudes.

Demerits:

1. Role playing may not adhere to the objectives of the training programme unless the trainee engages in coaching.

2. Reinforcement of the desired behaviour may be sometimes lacking when the trainer fails to stage the criteria for the behaviour.
