An adequate data base should be developed for the human resources to facilitate human resource planning. To manage employee skills inventories, organizations should maintain computerized human resource information system containing data on the: individuals, demographics, career progression, appraisal, skills, interests training, target positions, performance ratings, geographic preferences, promo ability ratings etc.
