Concrete Mix Design:

Concrete mix design is done in a laboratory to achieve the desired strength and workability. The mix design is done to achieve strength slightly higher than the value assumed in the design to account for variations in quality during construction. The water cement ratio is kept low (less than 0.4) and workability is achieved by adding admixtures such as plasticisers.
