This assessment aims to assess learning outcomes 2, 4 and 6. The aim of this assessment task is to get students to reflect on the lessons from the subject on project management concepts/theories and their application. Students are also expected to read and reflect on additional scholarly literature related to the scope of this assignment.

This is an individual report focusing on sustainable project management. Specifically, this assignment requires students to think about the sustainability aspects of contemporary project management and how project managers can effectively achieve environmental sustainability in projects.
Use the following questions as guiding questions to develop your essay.
Question 1. Why is achieving environmental sustainability important in contemporary project management?
Question 2. How do project managers plan, monitor, and control project delivery considering environmental sustainability aspects of project resources, deliverables and processes?
Question 3. What are the top three challenges project managers encounter in achieving environmental sustainability in projects?
Question 4. What advice/recommendation would you give a project manager on effectively responding to these challenges?
In general, you are required to,
- Read the relevant program material and additional scholarly literature on managing projects with a special focus on sustainable project management.
- Reflect on the literature on project management, specifically on concepts, processes, skills, and methods and your experience in managing projects in organisations.
- Identify, critically discuss and provide insights into the skills, competencies, and behaviours of project managers that underpin project success with consideration of environmental sustainability. Present your arguments/recommendations concisely based on your reflections.
Your submission should have a concise introduction that addresses the aim/objective of the task, your reflections in the body and arguments, followed by a concise conclusion with recommendations.
All your arguments should be well substantiated. References that were cited within the report are to be listed at the end of the report using the Harvard WesternSydU referencing style. You may present this composition in the essay format if you wish.
