Daniel Davidson told Velma Evans that he would hire her to work on an architectural job. He gave her a date to show up for work and told her to leave her present job. Relying on Davidson's statements, Evans left her job.

Davidson never let Evans begin work, and as a result, she was out of work for six months. Evans sued Davidson for the wages she lost during those six months.

Davidson argued that because they'd never decided on the final terms of employment, no contract ever existed between the two of them. Evans argued that the principle of promissory estoppel should apply here. Is Evans correct? Explain.
