What is genes Duplication ?
Duplication of genes can happen when a portion of a chromosome breaks off and attaches itself to the end of its homologous chromosome, as seen below. One or more genes may end up on the other homologous chromosome, duplicating the gene, or genes. Having multiple copies of the same gene usually produces adverse effects in the recipient.
