The Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms has as mandate, the training and development of Public Officers. With a view to justify the setting up of a Civil Service College in Mauritius, the Permanent Secretary has requested you, as a newly appointed Human Resource Officer, to submit a Draft Report highlighting the following:

(a) What you consider to be the benefits of training to:

(i) The Public Service?

(ii) The Public Officer?

(b) How could you identify the training needs of staff?

(c) What methods you would select to satisfy the training needs of staff?

(d) How you would carry out evaluation of training methods?

(e) What do you meant by the term ‘Human Resource development'
