Evaluation of various reports regarding the effects of earthquake on spatial trusses

Types of damages

According to the different types of damages, wrecked trusses can be divided into three different categories:

1. Damage of the bracings

2. Damage in the connection part between steel and concrete, this type of damage has been noted in the area of connection between the space truss and the supporting wall of pillar.   

3. Damage in different parts of truss: This type of damage has been noted in normal trusses and usually close to the support areas. In some cases, spatial trusses has been buckled or Brocken. However as these structures have unknown static degrees, they do not seem as important.

 

Classification of the damage according to the type of structures

The level of damage in spatial trusses has also been classified into three different levels based on the type of structure:

One layered spatial structures

Two layered spatial structures
