What is the value chain?

Value Chain: Each firm performs a set of activities which helps in designing, producing, delivering, marketing and supporting its products. Such activities form a procedure. At each stage of the process, in that case the firm adds value. The Chain of activities by raw material procurement to the after sales services is termed as the value chain. This identifies nine strategic activities that is five primary and four support activities to produce value.
