According to the Blum & Naylor (1968), "used properly as an aid to the selection, the application blank can be & sometimes is, one of the better selection devices at the disposal of the personnel technician".
Weighted application blank (WABs): to make the application from more job related, some organizations assign numeric values or weights to the responses provided by the applicants.
