Process of steam generation unit, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Process of Steam generation unit?

BFW from water treatment area is sent to the BFW Booster pumps at temperature around 105°C. The BFW is then heated and fed to the HP BFW Pumps.

Chelant and oxygen scavenger are added to inhibit scale formation and remove DO in the BFW, respectively.

The high pressure BFW is boiled in the Steam Generators to generate 80% to 100% quality steam. Wet HP steam (for steam quality less than 100%) is sent to the HP Steam Separator to remove liquid and 100% quality steam is fed to the HP steam pipelines for injection at the well pads.

Liquid blowdown from HP Steam Separator is throttled down to lower pressure and sent to the MP Steam Separator for vapour-liquid separation.

Neutralizing amine is injected into the steam condensation system to prevent corrosion. The blowdown is cooled down and fed to the Evaporator Feed Tank.
