We discussed about the steps involved in the procurement of consultant in previous section. We will now discuss the methods of selecting consultants.

The  methods  of  selecting  a  consultant  are  designed  to  achieve  the objectives of quality, efficiency, fairness and transparency in the selection process and to encourage competition. Hence it becomes critical for you to select the consultant through a proper method.

Various methods are-

1. Quality and Cost based selection

2. Quality based selection

3. Selection under fixed budget

4. Least cost selection

5. selection based on consultant qualification

6. Single source selection
