Differentiate between concrete and tendons

In the case of pre-tensioned concrete members, the transfer of prestress takes place due to the bond between concrete and tendons. In the case of post- tensioned concrete it is through the end anchorages. As the mechanism of transfer of prestress is different in these types of construction, the development of the prestressing force along the length of concrete member also is different.
