Define in brief about the term - Concrete

Concrete is reinforced with steel bars in structural components so that the tensile stresses are taken up by the reinforcement. These structural components are designed for various types of loads and appropriate amount of steel reinforcement, with suitable detailing, is provided in them. Reinforced concrete is a composite material, made of steel and concrete, in which stresses are transferred from one material to another one due to the bond between these materials.
