Q. What are the barriers to effective communication?

BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

Ans: Communication is very often affected/blunted/ distorted by noise that occurs primarily at the transmission level. Noise is one of the biggest barriers in communication. For example, in a factory, there are engines and machines making a oral communication or constant noise becomes difficult. Blaring loudspeakers around is bound to interfere with our conversation. Weather conditions also behave as a barrier in communication. The other barriers in communication are:

(i) lack of planning, (ii) semantic problems, (iii) Wrong/unclarified assumptions, (iv) cultural barriers and (v) socio-psychological barriers.
