Problem
Billy, age 6, has a hard time listening at home. His mother has to repeat instructions multiple times before he will follow through, and sometimes he seems to ignore requests. His room is very messy and he loses things frequently. Billy's mother describes him as "bouncing off the walls." She often blames her ex-husband for Billy's behavioral difficulties, indicating that Billy's father is not strict enough. Billy's teacher has a very different experience with him at school. He behaves appropriately and remains seated in his chair. Billy politely raises his hand when he wants to speak, and his desk is organized. He listens well and really seems to want to please his teacher.
