DASH eating plan: an eating plan for diabetes management is evidence-based, and has been used as a guide for reducing the prevalence of diabetes. In a case-control study, 105 women with Diabetes Neuropathy, and 105 controls were studied, and the DASH diet was recommended. The primary intervention was using the DASH diet to decrease diabetes Neuropathy. The study found that 85 % of those who followed the DASH Diet had lower odds of Diabetic neuropathy, in contrast to those who ate a diet with only vegetables or low-fat dairy diets. The study found that the DASH diet is associated with lower levels of Diabetes Neuropathy in women with type 2 diabetes. The authors believe the mechanism for decreasing diabetic neuropathy is prioritizing DASH. One assumption the intervention must make in order to achieve its desired impact is that people will follow the DASH eating guidelines, thereby decreasing Diabetes Neuropathy.
