One new piece of technology that I see impacting healthcare is the use e-visits or telehealth visits. In the office that I work at, e-visits are becoming more and more popular. E-visits are a questionnaire that gets sent to the provider to evaluate. Telehealth appointments are video calls or other forms of digital communications between the patient and the provider to provide care (Hailu et al., 2024). The telehealth videos have allowed for patients to be seen when they otherwise might not have been able to, such as when a patient is homebound or out of town. More patients are being treated and patient satisfaction is increasing. I believe that in the future, this technology will be used at a variety of clinics and services.
