Case study

You are a supervisor at Ayindi Care Services, an aged care facility located in Fremantle that accommodates 73 residents. Part of your responsibility as a supervisor is to communicate to your team, peers and senior staff.

The introduction of the Aged Care Quality Standards, Charter of Aged Care Rights and the Notifiable Data Breach Scheme has led to the review and update of existing organisational policies and new policies and procedures being written. You are responsible for notifying staff of the updates, communicating new policies and procedures and in particular, talking about specific policies and procedures that directly affect them.

Due to recent cases of personal information being inadvertently disclosed, your manager asks you to communicate the organisation's new Privacy, Administration and Information Management Policy as a priority and to provide an update on the effective implementation of it. You will need to consider the most appropriate method/s of communication in context with the message and audience.
