The fermenter stream you saw for the last problem is to be separated by distillation as shown below. Its composition is 85.0 mol % water (H2O, MW = 18.01), 10.0 mole % ethanol (C2H5OH, MW = 46.07), and 5.0 mol % sucrose (C6H12O6, MW =180.16). Its total flow is 500 kmol/h. 95% of the ethanol fed is recovered in the ethanol product stream. Assume steady state.

a) Calculate the molar flow rate for each component in each stream and the total molar flow rate for each stream in kmol/h.

b) Calculate the kg/year sucrose in Stream 3.
