What is the need of knowledge management in an organisation

KM is introduced to help an organisation of whatever nature to create, share, and use knowledge effectively because it pays off in fewer mistakes, less redundancy, quicker problem solving, better decision making, reduced research and development (R&D) costs, increased worker independence, enhanced customer relations, and improved services to customers. Knowledge support functions are needed to implement KM in an organisation.
