Layers of employee rights, HR Management

Assignment Help:

We start with a case study, looking at an issue that might arise at any workplace-an unexpected e-mail from an employee. For the purpose of the case study, you take the role of a new HR manager. Do you think the email raises legal concerns? With this example in mind, we'll look at the layers of employee rights. Then you will revisit the case to determine what additional information you need before seeking legal advice.

After completing this topic, you will be able to:

  • Discuss how federal, state, and local laws as well as court cases, legal agreements, and company policies interact to determine employee rights
  • Recognize the core concepts of employment laws in the U.S. and other countries
  • Describe the role of HR professionals when situations may have legal implications
