Blank insertion and zero insertion, COBOL Programming

B (Blank Insertion) :

The occurrence of a B anyplace in the picture will insert a space character in the edited data. There can be more than one B in the picture.

Examples:

0 (Zero Insertion) :

A zero emerging in a picture will be treated in similar way as a B except that 0 will be inserted rather than of a space character.
