Hematopoiesis is the formation of blood cells with other constituent elements of the blood.

Q. Where does hematopoiesis occur?

Hematopoiesis occurs in the bone marrow mainly within flat bones, where erythrocytes, platelets and leukocytes are made, and in the lymphoid tissue, responsible for the maturation of and leukocytes found in the thymus, lymphnodes and spleen.
