What is Implant therapy

Successful implant therapy requires systematic thorough and meticulous planning to determine the ultimate prognosis and end result that will satisfy the patient. The importance of proper case selection before embarking on with the implant treatment modality cannot be overemphasized. It is of importance to analyze the collected data from the medical and dental history and clinical physical examination so as to decide upon the feasibility of the implant procedure and the design of the final prosthesis. Although there are no hard and fast rules with regards to thetypes of analysis to be done during the first appointment and the subsequent appointments or the number of appointments dedicated towards the same, however it is always better to focus on certain issues during the first appointment to arrive at a decision whether the patient is eligible to receive an implant or not and accordingly workup the case.
