Q. What are the different types of distributing frames used in exchanges?
Ans:
Different distribution frames used in exchange are displayed in figure. Each subscriber in a telephone network is connected generally to the nearest switching office by a dedicated pair of wires. Subscriber loop denotes to this pair of wires. It would be unwisely to run physically independent pairs from each subscriber premises to exchange. It is far easier to lay cables comprising a number of pairs of wires for different geographical locations and run individual pairs as needed by subscriber premises.
