Biological versus learned need:

Biological:

Drive theory focuses on biological requires that produce unpleasant states of arousal example stomach rumbling when you are hungry. We are motivated to decrease the tension caused by such arousal.

Learned:

Expectancy theory suggests that performance is largely governed by expectations of achieving desirable outcomes - positive incentives rather than pushed from within.

Biogenic vs. psychogenic needs

Biogenic needs

People are born with a require for certain elements necessary to maintain life example water, food, shelter and so on.

Psychogenic needs

Are obtaining in the process of becoming a member of a culture example power, status and affiliation and so on.

Need vs want:

The particular form of consumption utilized to satisfy a need is called a want.

Biogenic needs - people are born with requirement for certain elements necessary to maintain life example water, food, shelter etc.

Psychogenic needs -

Are acquired in the procedure of becoming a member of a culture example power, status, affiliation etc.
