Reinforcement in thrust blocks

In general situation, reinforcement isn't essential for thrust blocks in pressurized pipelines. Though certain amount of reinforcement hasto be added in thrust blocks in the below situations:

(i) The structure integrity of huge thrust block could be improved by the introduction of reinforcement.

(ii) At the anchorages for straps in thrust blocks, some reinforcement has to be designed to evade the development of tensile stresses.
