In order to demonstrate aliasing, make a plot of the signal
x(t) = 3 cos 2π10t - cos 2π30t
which approximates a square wave with W = 30 Hz. If the sample points are taken at
t = 0, 1/60, 2/60, ......... 6/60
corresponding to Ts = 1/(2W), you can see that x(t) could be recovered from those samples. However, if the sample points are taken at
t = 0, 1/40, 2/40, ......... 6/60
corresponding to Ts = 1/(2W) and fs < 2W, a smooth curve drawn through these points will show the effect of aliasing.
Q. A 10-kVA, 200:400-V, single-phase transformer gave these test results: • Open-circuit test (LVwinding supplied): 200V, 3.2 A, 450 W • Short-circuit test (HV winding suppli

1. The circuit below will be most efficiently analyzed by obtaining the Thevenin equivalent circuit for the circuit to the left of the points (a-b) on the schematic. The capacitor
Q. Consider an RC parallel circuit excited by (a) i(t) = 20e -2t A, and (b) i(t) = 20 A. Find the forced component of the current through the capacitor for R = 2 and C = 2F.
At the completion of this unit, you will be able to determine the cutoff frequencies and attenuations of RC and RL low- and high-pass filters by using test circuits. UNIT FUNDA
