Graphics Tablet - CAD and CAM
We need to know what we mean via tablet in computer terminology, before going into details on the graphic tablet, since in the other disciplines, the word tablet carries various meanings. In computer science "Tablet is a particular flat surface along with a mechanism for showing positions on it, usually utilized as a locator". This minute digitizer is utilized for interactive work on a graphics workstation. In fact this device is necessary when anyone wants to do free hand drawing or to trace any type of solid geometrical shape.
Consequently a graphic tablet is a drawing tablet utilized for sketching modern images or tracing old ones. Otherwise we may say that a graphics tablet is as a computer input device that permits one to hand-draw graphics and images, like the way one draws images along with a pencil on paper. Or else a Graphics tablet is a computer peripheral device which permits one to hand images directly to a computer, usually through an imaging program. Graphics tablets comprises a flat surface upon that the user may 'draw' an image by using an attached pen-like drawing apparatus by using that the user contacts the surface of the tablet; this apparatus is categorized into two kinds: termed as pen i.e. stylus and also puck i.e. a flat block along with cross-hairs and several switch keys that may be wired or wireless. Frequently mistakenly termed as a mouse, the puck is officially the "tablet cursor." The image drawn or traced usually does not show on the tablet itself but quite is displayed on the computer monitor.
