Fixed position layout - process design, Operation Management

Assignment Help:

Fixed-position layout

This configuration is typically used for low-volume, project-type operations where the product being produced is massive, and movement of the material from process to process is impossible or impractical. Bridges, oil rigs, and office buildings fall into this category; the processes required come to the site. In the service sector, football stadia, theatres, cinemas and lecture theatres are examples of fixed- position layouts, where performances are presented for communal attendance.
