Q. Explain Third Degree Atrioventricular Block?

In older patients with known or suspected CAD, third degree heart block at rest should be a relative contraindication to stress testing. When patients with CAD develop complete AV block, the progress is poor. If it is present in vigorous younger patients with no evidence of heart disease, testing may be done. If patients develop complete AV block during exercise testing, exercise should be terminated immediately.
