Establishing standards of performance:
Appraisal system require performance standards which serve as bench marks against which performance is measured. The standard set for performance must be clearly defined and ambiguous. They should be attainable by a normal employee. To be useful standard should relate to the desired result to each job. Performance standard must be clear to both the appraiser and appraise.
