Counselling Diabetic Travellers

The counsellor needs to educate a diabetic patient and /or his family members to following issues when such patients plan to travel:

·  Plan the travel with the advice of the doctor.
·  Carry medicines, injections and doctor's prescription.
·  Carry drugs and insulin in hand bag.
·  Carry extra medicine and supplies.
·  Check sugar while traveling.
·  Carry sugar and sweets.
·  Wear diabetic identification card and doctor and family contact number.
·  Tell co-passengers / staff about diabetic status.
