Circumference of a circle, Mathematics

Assignment Help:

How far will a bowling ball goes in one rotation if the ball has a diameter of 10 inches? (π = 3.14)

1. 78.5 in

2. 31.4 in

3. 62.8 in

4. 15.7 in

2.

The circumference of a circle is πd. Using the diameter  of 10 inches, the circumference is same to (3.14)(10) or 31.4 inches. If you chose b, you evaluate the area of a circle. If you chose c, you used πr for circumference rather than 2πr. If you select d, you used the diameter rather than the radius.
