Autonomous of self directly teams:

Empowerment results in self directed work teams. A self directed work teams. A self directed work teams is an intact group of employees who are responsible for a whole work process or segment that delivers a product or service to an internal or external customers. To varying degrees team members work together to improve their operations handle day to day problems and plan and control their work. Weakness of empowered teams however should not be ignored. The union response to self directed teams may not be positive. Union leaders may fear that the teams may cut into their power base. Getting worker co-operation for work teams may not be encouraging. There is the psychological unpreparedness to accept responsibilities. Even the managers and supervisors doubt the role of empowered teams. They are the lasers in terms of status authority and power. Work team implementation is difficult without the active involvement of managers and supervisors.
