Automatic switching system and manual switching system, Computer Engineering

Assignment Help:

Discuss the advantages of automatic switching systems over manual switching system.

Automatic switching systems have some advantages over the manual exchanges:

1. In a manual exchange, the subscriber requires communicating with the operator and a common language turns into a significant factor. Conversely, the operation of automatic exchange is language independent.

2. A greater degree of privacy is acquired in automatic exchanges as no operator is generally involved in monitoring and setting up a call.

3. Establishment and release of calls are quicker in automatic exchanges. In manual exchange, operator consumes a few minutes to observe the end of conversation and release circuits.

 4. In an automatic exchange, the time needed to establish a call keeps more or less of similar order irrespective of the load upon the system or the time of the day. In manual systems such may not be true.
