Reasons for choice of this topic
Need to bring out my personal qualities and attributes that qualifies me for the profession.
Need to explain the reason for my interest in the profession.
A motivation for me to work harder towards accomplishing this dream.
Makes me happy and gives me a sense of purpose.
Need to inform the people around me and help them understand some of the choices I have had to take towards achieving this goal that they probably did not understand initially.
Why these reasons are meaningful to me.
They give me as the writer a chance to speak in my own voice since they are subjective.
They are more specific hence good at bringing out my story.
It is easier to generate important points while focusing on these reasons.
They give a wider perspective of the main topic e.g. personal attributes and qualities will also be discussed in addition to the reason for interest in the profession.
First and second person point of view
In order for this essay to work, it will be important to use the first person point of view (i) because I will be talking from my own perspective. I am the main subject of this essay as well as the narrator and therefore the only realistic point of view has to be my point of view i.e first person point of view.
A second person point of view would not work for a personal or other essays because it tends to focus on the reader as opposed to the narrator and is normally for purposes of advising, offering explanations or directing the reader. The purpose of most essays including personal essays is to inform or persuade. If a second person point of view is used, then this purpose is hard to achieve.
