Verified Expert

Cost is the price of any product or service. In other words the price which is paid for purchasing any product or for taking any service is its cost. Raab and Mayer define costing as a technique with which expenditure is charged to different products and services. (Raab and Mayer, 2004) 7 Star restaurant procures factors of production through which it provides services to its customers. The different factors of production include raw material which include different eatable, human resources which work on different positions in the restaurant and additional expenses which support its operations. When these different expenditures are identified in relation to one specific product or service, the process is called costing. Thus in other words, costing is nothing else than assigning costs to products or services which the entity sells to earn revenue.
