The Profile: Write a 2-3 page profile of a unique or notable person. Make sure to choose someone that other people have written about for research sources. If you can find an interview of the subject, use that for one source; your paper should have three research sources.
YOU NEED AT LEAST 3 RESEARCH SOURCES.
Include:
Choose an angle to approach your subject.
Introduce your subject. Provide necessary background.
Bring your subject to life using events, characterizations, anecdotes, and narration.
Conclusion: state your overall impression. Use a quote, summary of the person, or something that will leave your reader with a strong impression.
A profile is different from a biography. A biography covers a person's entire life. In a profile, the information is given in relation to the angle or aspect you are focusing on. For example, if you were to write a profile of David Bowie, you could write about him as a musician or an actor or a painter or a fashion icon. In each case, you would choose different information relevant to that angle.
Write a first draft. Revise first for content, then organization, details, and language. Do a separate draft for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. Cite all your sources both in-text in a Works Cited page, which should be on a separate page at the end of your essay.
Citations should be in MLA Style: (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/02/)
