Question 1. The short story "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" looks at systemic issues surrounding privilege and oppression. Specifically, the child in the cellar must suffer so that the rest of the citizens can experience their utopic existence in the city of Omelas.

Question 2. During lecture (or, a soon to be posted lecture) we watched a portion of John Oliver's Last Week Tonight, looking at the "fast fashion" industry. That segment explored a similar kind of systemic issue, where the privileged group (those of us who purchase cheap clothing) is reliant upon the oppressed (in this case, child workers working in unsafe conditions).
