Question: Charlie was a very talented con artist. Charlie deceived Ed into believing that he was Danny Evans, a well-respected local businessman. Because Ed believed that Charlie was Danny Evans, Charlie was able to convince Ed to loan him $20,000. Ed drew a check on his account at AJM Bank in the amount of $20,000 and made out to "Danny Evans". Charlie forged Danny Evan's name and presented the check for payment at AJM Bank. Ed discovered the lie the day after AJM Bank paid Charlie the $20,000. Ed claimed that AJM Bank cannot charge his account for the $20,000 because it did not pay the real Charlie Evans.
