Question: Teams are important to both our personal and professional lives. As much as we like to think that we can do life on our own, there is always going to be someone that will challenge us to grow in one way or another and there is always going to be someone that we can help to grow.

One professional example of when I worked with a team was when the leaders of several IT teams got together to improve the asset management of the company's laptops. We had 1000 laptops that needed to be replaced in that year. We assigned 3 employees to the task of replacing 250 computers per year over four years. Of course, it was much more complex than that, but the framework of the system is still in place 10 years later.

Personally, my team of friends just united to rent a beach house for a week this summer to celebrate all of us turning 50. This is an on-going task, but the planning has brought us closer as friends and helped us to realize what we each bring to our friend group.
