Question
Demonstrate translation of evidence-based knowledge from your DNP Capstone Project beginning idea into patient outcomes and system changes from the micro, meso, and macro levels. The school District will establish a Wellness Committee that may consist of one (1) of each of the following: parent/guardian, student, school nurse, school food service representative, School Committee member, school or District administrator, and health care professionals and other community members as appropriate. If available, a qualified, credentialed nutrition professional will be a member of the Wellness Committee. The Superintendent will designate an appropriate staff member to serve as the Wellness Program Coordinator. Only employees of the District who are members of the Wellness Committee may serve as Wellness Program Coordinators. The Wellness Coordinator, in consultation with the Wellness Committee, will be responsible for implementing and evaluating this policy.
The Wellness Committee will review all curricula and other educational materials pertaining to wellness for accuracy, completeness, balance, and consistency with the state and District's educational goals and standards and make recommendations to the Superintendent. The Wellness Program Coordinator will be responsible for devising a plan for implementation and evaluation of the District's Wellness Policy and is charged with ensuring that schools meet the goals of the District's Wellness Policy. The Wellness Program Coordinator, in consultation with the Wellness Committee, is charged with recommending and reviewing the procedures addressing other activities to promote wellness, including physical activities and/or nutrition services or programs designed to benefit staff health.
