Case Study: Bo's consulting firm has been hired by a manufacturer of consumer electronics to investigate how their teams are performing. On investigation, Bo has observed that most of the work is undertaken by individuals on their own. Where work is undertaken in teams, these are typically selected from those in the same department. Meetings are long with the boss spending most of the time allocating work. On one occasion Bo saw a junior employee speak up - but they were quickly put in their place by the boss. The manufacturer has global offices and used to have a well-developed exchange programme, although this has lapsed in recent years.
