Interview a teacher in a grade 1-5 classroom. Your interview should research the teacher's student development in the classroom, methods and philosophies of development, educational psychology for students in varying stages of growth, and perspective of how these methods and philosophies are incorporated in the classroom
Below is a list of questions to ask the teacher:
What learning methods and philosophies apply to the age/grade you are teaching?
How are these learning methods and philosophies integrated in your current classroom?
Explain how you guide your student's development cognitively, linguistically, socially, emotionally, and physically?
How does development (cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical) differ depending upon the student's age? Choose two grade levels (1st-3rd or 4th-5th) and compare and contrast their development.
In what capacity do you use the school psychologist, behavior specialist, or resource teacher in your classroom?
Can you explain the collaboration you have with other professionals, stakeholders, and colleagues?
Ask 2-3 additional questions and follow-up questions as appropriate.
In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect upon your interview. Research and identify the methods and philosophies used in the classroom and the theories they apply to.
Describe the development (cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical) of the age/grade of your interview. Explain how you will use these findings in your future professional practice. Include three resources to support your summary.
